CHAMPIONSHIP RULES
1. All financial members of the Army Golf Club W.A. with a current AGU/WAGL handicap are eligible to compete in the championship.
Venue and Duration
2. The
championship is to be conducted at the Club Home Course over 3 consecutive
weeks. Players must play in all 3 rounds in order to win.
Note:
For 2008 the Committee has approved, as a one year
trial, the playing of the Championships at Wembley, Collier Park, and Hamersley
3. The
Club Champion is the person with the lowest gross score over 54 holes. The Grade Champion is the person with
the lowest net score for their own grade.
Grades are as determined by the West Australian Golf League (Inc) from
time to time and published in their Year Book. Current grades are as follows:
A Grade 0 – 16
B Grade 17 – 21
C Grade 22 – 36
4. In the event of a tie for the gross or net champion a “sudden death” play off is to be played on the day until there is a winner. With regards to the net play off, strokes given or received are as per the stroke index on the card. If play cannot continue due to bad light etc, the play off will continue on the 1st hole of the following round until there is a winner.
Note: In the event of the gross champion also being the best net score for their grade, the net winner will be the player with the next best score.
Format
5. All rounds are to be stroke.
6. For the 1st and 2nd rounds, order of play will be A. grade, followed by B. grade, followed by C. grade. For the 3rd round, leaders of each grade will play in the first 3 groups.
7. Nearest the pins and other novelties will be as per normal competition ie A. and B. grade.
